Business Owners and Entrepreneurs
If you own or run a business, you know better than most of the challenges in balancing the competing demands from your life inside and outside of business. For many of us, knowing where to draw the distinction between the two is a challenge unto itself. That's where we come in.
Our experience working with business owners and entrepreneurs provides us with a unique perspective on what business owners need help with, and what they don't. We've been there. The services are essentially what we wish we had available to us when we were trying to manage and grow our businesses.

Our experience working with business owners and entrepreneurs provides us with a unique perspective on what business owners need help with, and what they don't. We've been there. The services are essentially what we wish we had available to us when we were trying to manage and grow our businesses.
What we do:
- Explain clearly and succinctly what we should do and why.
- Focus on the details so that you don't have to.
- Take care of all administration and paperwork so you don't have to (there are some limitations).
- Provide a dedicated Private Client Adviser as your point of contact.
- Take responsibility and hold ourselves accountable: when we make a promise, we deliver. Our reputation is our word.
- Maintain an open and transparent fee structure.
What we don't do:
- Waste your time with infomercials or emails of cats on treadmills (sorry).
- Try to "sell" you products that you don't need.
- Recommend any strategy or product that we, in the same circumstances, wouldn't undertake ourselves.
- Introduce you to any advisers we can't personally vouch for: our industry networks are extensive, however we only recommend the very best.
Our process:
- Our process will be discussed in our initial meeting. More about that can be found here.
Our services
Areas covered by our research and analysis include:
- Asset protection (i.e., protection from litigation or bankruptcy).
- Tax management (legally minimising the long-term tax liability of you, and your business).
- Asset Structuring: is everything structured as it should be? What are the risks, how can things be improved?
- Diversification: is most of your wealth tied to your business? We can show you ways to intelligently and efficiently diversify your risk.
- Wealth Management: whether it's debt management or derivatives, our investing and wealth management services are all about maximising the after-tax (and after-fee) return on from your capital and earnings potential.
- Planned Business Succession: establishing how and when your business will be sold (if at all).
- Unplanned Exits: an extension to succession planning, what happens if you were to suddenly die, or leave the business due to illness? How is the business ownership structure organised, and how can this be handled to ensure that you (or your family) are adequately compensated for your equity?
- Buy/Sell Agreements: Do you have a Buy/Sell agreement in place? The legal and tax considerations are complex, and the consequences of a poorly structured (or funded) agreement can be devastating. We can help you understand what is means to you and your business. And if you already have a Buy/Sell Agreement, we can give you a second opinion.
- Insurances: what is the financial consequences of illness, disability or death? In some cases personal insurance can provide a low-cost solution to funding any wealth shortfall. We are licensed to provide insurance advice and access to all personal insurance products, however unlike dedicated insurance advisers and brokers we don't see this as a solution to every problem.
Our fees
- Engagement Fees: Our fees will be discussed in our initial meeting, with an engagement fee set and agreed upon before the commencement of any data gathering or recommendations. We bear all costs up to this point; there are no costs nor obligations should you decide not to proceed with our services.
- Ongoing Reviews: Review fees are based on scope and complexity and start at $770 per annum.
- Portfolio Management (PM) Service: There are two PM levels offered (standard and professional), based on the quantum of funds under management and portfolio complexity. Our investment approach and market guidance is provided by Third Sector Advantage (TSA); an independent asset and risk consultant to institutional investors, government and the Not-for-Profit sector. You can learn more about their approach to portfolio management here. Contact us for more information.
