Self Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs)
Self Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs) are superannuation accounts which are tailored to, and run for the sole benefit of the individual members.
While SMSFs are in many ways very similar to standard retail superannuation platforms, there are a few key differences that anyone considering a SMSF should be aware of, including differences in costs, regulatory responsibilities, the types of assets that an individual investor can hold, and the risk borne by the investor should the Fund collapse. Is a SMSF the right structure for you? If you have, or are thinking about establishing a SMSF and would like to discuss whether it is the right structure for you, we offer a SMSF Review Meeting at a cost of $375 for 90 minutes. Developing your investment strategy (IPS) Having the right strategy in place is critical to ensuring that your SMSF achieves its objectives. We employ a rigorous process to set clear and measurable investment objectives in line with your return objectives and tolerance for volatility and risk. At completion of this process you will be provided with an Investment Policy Statement (IPS) that clearly identifies how your investment strategy should be managed, along with a thorough analysis of expected outcomes. Your first IPS is charged at a flat rate of $2,750, with subsequent reviews at a cost of $660. Portfolio Management Service (PMS) Our Portfolio Management Service is an active extension of your IPS, employing a Dynamic Strategic Asset Allocation (DSAA) overlay to exploit market inefficiencies such as volatility and imbalances between equity and debt risk premiums. The fee for this service is set at our standard PMS rate of $1,100 per account plus 0.55% p.a. of assets under advice, however we will only accept management of SMSF portfolios with values greater than $350,000. |
