Expenses - Summary
- Current Spending Rate: This was your average daily spending rate over the period covered.
- Rate Adjusted for Extraordinary Items: Current spending rate adjusted for extraordinary expenses such as renovations, fines and bank interest payments (going forward you should be debt free). We estimate this as $189 per day. See pie chart below for attribution. Notice that a large proportion (27%) of expenses are classified as "Other". While there are many different expenses within this category, most are non-essential so there may well be scope to reduce these expenses.
- Sustainable Retirement Income (ex Home): Were you to exclude your home from all calculations, this is the daily allowance you would have available to ensure your capital (super and shares) lasts 30 years. We estimate this as $98 per day.
- Sustainable Retirement Income (inc. Home): As above, however assumes that your home is sold in approximately 15 years. We estimate this as $147 per day.
- Sustainable Retirement Income (Home Rented): This is essentially the situation you would face while you were in France. It assumes you rent your home for $690/wk. Obviously you will still have expenses in Australia (such as utilities, pet insurance etc), and there will be additional expenses while on holiday, however when we adjust for differences in the cost of living it's likely you would be able to holiday within this budget. We estimate this as $174 per day.
